Meet the new boss, same as the old one

Tuesday, January 20, 2009

So Barack Hussein Obama was sworn in today as the elected President, however I will openly admit that I was not impressed, filled with hope, or otherwise moved as so many claimed to be. He is a politician, George Bush was one also, the difference: face value only. Politicians have to lie as part of their job, because nobody wins an election with the truth but rather bright shining lies that people suck down like some kind of new age cocaine.

Like generations before, we need to rally behind our president, regardless of who he/she is.

Um I don't remember people backing a president during the Vietnam War, they were just as divided then as we are now. I don't respect the office and I don't respect the man, I respect the actions that deserve respect. A person is granted nothing and must instead earn it, and so far Obama has not done anything as the president so there is little to base backing and respect on at this point save for the post-election kool-aid that has been passed out. Its just a shame that hes already built up such a cult of personality that people assume if you don't profess love for him you are either a racist or a neo-conservative; sometimes they will even label you both just for good measure.
